The Gardens of Fanshawe College Blog
Karima H. May 8th, 2015
Over the week, this weather has been across the board. From
rain to humidity you really don’t know what the next day will be like. The
group of summer students and I started the season off by doing garden beds. We
learned what tools we had to use which was all new to us, but very interesting
to learn the common tools taken out to complete jobs.
In the greenhouse, we have been
very efficiently transplanting Marigolds so they are ready for our customers. Another
job that was completed was taking cuttings from the False African Violet, so
they can develop roots and later on be transplanted into pots once they have
become established.
Overall
this week has been a really good learning experience and it’s only going to get
better from here on.
